Moe Ari and Tiffany discuss the importance of creating time for self-care and self-reflection. Their shared belief is that if someone does not intentionally fill their free time with self-care, something else will take its place. They discuss the importance of starting each day from the seat of your soul and doing something intentionally, like reading self-development books, listening to an inspirational audiobook, journaling, or pulling tarot cards to connect with yourself.

It’s important to recognize and work through any limiting beliefs around feeling selfish when taking “me time” away from family. It is not selfish to engage in self-care activities to give back to yourself. Listen to this episode for more information!

Here are some tips for taking solo time when in a relationship:

  1. Communicate with your partner. Tell your partner you need time to yourself, and explain why. Being honest about your needs and respecting your partner's feelings is important.

  2. Be specific about what you need. Do you need a few hours to yourself every day? Once a week? Once a month? Let your partner know what works for you.

  3. Be flexible. Sometimes, your schedule may not permit the amount of alone time you need. In these cases, be willing to adapt and still meet your space needs.

  4. Make the most of your alone time. Use your alone time to do something you enjoy. Read a book, take a bath, watch a movie, or go for a walk. Whatever you do, make sure it's something that makes you happy.

  5. Don't feel guilty.  It's okay to need some time to yourself. It's healthy! Time alone can help you recharge, de-stress, and be a better partner.

Taking some time alone can be a great way to improve your relationship.
